Following the success of our initial gathering in London last year, in this second edition of the Sculpting Time with Computers workshop we aim to formalise our research network and strengthen the interdisciplinary dialogue among academics and industry professionals working on the computational modelling of audiovisual cultural phenomena.

The workshop will convene a select group of participants for two days of discussion and exchange about computational approaches to time-based media, with a focus on films and television. The objectives of this event are 1) to map ongoing research in the field, sharing data, methods, and approaches, and 2) to collaboratively draft a road map for future activities with a view to integrate into a permanent research network. See the programme for more information.

Our network links scholars working across disciplines in the arts, sciences, and humanities, in the fields of film and media, computer science and engineering, history, cultural analytics and digital humanities, with professionals in the cultural sector, including audiovisual archives and creative industries.
